Favorite Family Fall Activities
I don't know about you but I'm like actually ready for fall. You know like real fall. Not the wear a jacket in the morning and shorts in the afternoon. I'm talking cozy sweaters, boots, scarves, bonfires, sweatshirts, pumpkin spice evvvvveerrrythang!
You know what I'm talking about.
Besides wearing all the layers I'm also excited about all the awesome activities I love doing with my family this time of year. I love spending time outside with the family and getting as much sunshine as possible before winter comes knocking at our door. In Minnesota it comes tooooo quick and stays tooooo long. So here are some of the activities I love doing with fam in the fall
1. Apple Orchard
We love going to apple orchard not to just pick apples but to have fun. Well the kids are having fun and mama is having a cider or a glass or wine :-) Its the reason I love the
Aamodt's Apple Farm in Stillwater. They are the best in town. On the weekends they have hay rides, little trains, a playground, and literally the best apple donuts I've ever had!! If you're looking for a chill and very inexpensive way to spend your weekend this is it people.
2. Pumpkin Patch
You can't talk about fall activities without talking about going to the pumpkin patch can you? Well friends the Sever's Fall Festival and Corn Maze (the one we love) isn't just a pumpkin patch. This is a festival with a side of pumpkin patch. This is such an awesome event. The kids love coming here because its filled with so many activities. They have a giant slide, a giant bouncy, food, drinks, a small hay maze and a pretty tricky corn maze. You could literally spend all afternoon here. I'm not gonna lie you need to bring some extra money to this one...but its so worth it!
3. Go for a walk
Free, chill, and beautiful. Going for a walk during the fall is the best. The leaves are on the ground, the air is crisp, and there is something about the fall sun that feels different. We love going for evening walks during the fall before it starts getting too dark. Its the perfect way to wind down the night and get some fresh air. Layer up, grab the stroller, find a leaf pile to jump in and your phone to capture the moment!
Listen, I'll be the first to tell you that I'm no baker. I hate measuring things and I have no patience for the art of baking. However getting in the kitchen with my girls and. attempting to bake a pie or some yummy pumpkin cream cheese cupcakes (yes they are delish) always sounds like a good idea. There is something about the fall that makes you wanna feel all warm inside and what's better than a nice warm piece of apple pie. Bonus if there is a dollop of cinnamon ice cream....OMG!
5. Take a drive
Now this one we haven't done yet but its definitely on our fall to do list. Is there anything prettier than driving down a scenic road and seeing all of the pretty leaves with the sun shining. Just thinking about it puts me in a peaceful place. I'm planning on a drive up to Duluth to drive down one of their scenic routes and I can't wait!
What fall activities do you have planned? I would love to know!
